Ticehurst & Flimwell C of E SchoolLast month a very special ceremony took place outside Ticehurst & Flimwell school entrance. The vicar, Reverend Tim Mills, blessed our new religious mosaic in front of an audience of parents and children. The mosaic was designed by 5 year old Robbie Kelly, who is in Jupiter class. Robbie's design was picked from a selection submitted by the children who had been asked to plan a religious picture around a wooden cross. Although there were many imaginative designs, Robbie's stood out because it had elements of nature and depicted a calm and serene atmosphere. It embodies the ethos of our school as a warm, welcoming and happy place to be where children feel safe and cared for. Our thanks go to Mrs. Davidson, the teacher who was the inspiration behind this project. She helped children, staff and governors create the mosaic using small tiles. Her husband, Mr. Davidson made the wooden cross as the centrepiece. When visitors come to our school, they now see the mosaic and recognise the religious ethos of our school.
